The story of Serica was inspired by the Silk Road, which brings us the traditional recipes of ancient civilizations that emanated thousands of years ago from the mountain of Gods and extended to Istanbul. Although the food culture heritage of the Göktürks’ Civilization, which is a nomadic and conquering society that Turkic communities have a sense of belonging, is very extensive, other nomadic civilizations that left a mystical gastronomy route to the Silk Road also have different storage and cooking techniques. Serica’s menu was created by the famous chef Tolga Atalay, bringing together the flavours that the Silk Road gave to the world of gastronomy. Gastronomy historian, Özge Samancı, also a great contribution to the research. Every detail of the recipes that make up the menu contains the emotions, tastes, smells and colours reflected by this historical giant route.
